1) 💸 $9 Billion Tax Credit Market:

The Inflation Reduction Act allows for trading of tax credits from companies that develop renewable energy projects to other companies. This market has grown to $7-$9 billion, scaling faster than anyone expected. Learn more here
 

2) 🖥️ $6.9 Million for AI Clean Energy Startup:

 A Barcelona-based AI energy startup, Delfos, has raised €6.3 million in a seed round. The startup claims it can improve operations and cut cost of operations of renewable energy companies by up to 30% and increase energy generation by 3-5%. Learn more here. 
 

3) Europe's Battery & Recycling Growth :

Europe's Northvolt is growing battery production in North Sweden for large customers including Volkswagen and BMW. It raised over $3.4 billion in debt, one of the largest clean energy transactions. Learn more here

Energy Terminal's Community Hub will be hosting Dexter Liu, Executive Director at NextEra Energy Resources.

Dexter is a Director in the Renewable Development department at NextEra and has been responsible for developing multiple solar, wind and battery storage projects across the United States. Dexter will be talking about the development process from origination to COD, as well as what kind of skills are important for students to learn in order to pursue a career in renewable project development. Dexter will also discuss what a developer thinks about when going through the process of utility scale projects, and the different considerations that his team needs to make from usage of land, distance to interconnection points, and everything in between!
