1)β›½ Pacific Northwest Gas Pipeline Approved:

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has approved an upgrade to an existing natural gas transportation system in the Pacific Northwest. Democrats in California, Oregon, Washington and some tribal leaders and environmental advocates pushed back, while Republicans in Oregon, Idaho and Washington pushed for the approval. Learn more here.

The cost of carbon is going to be a primary topic of COP 28, but what should this price be? Experts think that the cost of a metric ton of carbon is going to be priced at $27 in 2030, but with the predicted social cost of carbon, this number seems way too low to keep emission goals on track. Learn more here

The DOE just granted huge loans for long-range transmission projects. This is just the start of the funding that the Biden administration plans to put into transmission, which is believed to be a key part of decarbonizing the US. Learn more here
